On 17 May 2019, ASTRA Infra through PT Astra Tol Nusantara acquired a 44,5% share of PT Jasamarga Surabaya Mojokerto (JSM), the concession holder of the Surabaya-Mojokerto (Sumo) toll road.
The 36,3 km Sumo toll road spans four sections, Section IA Waru-Sepanjang (2,3 km), Section IB Sepanjang–Western Ring Road (4,3km), Section II WRR-Driyorejo (5,1km), Section III Driyo-Krian (6,1 km) and Section IV Krian-Mojokerto City (18,5 km).
The Sumo toll road connects with the Jombang-Mojokerto and Surabaya-Gempol toll roads, and has been in full operation since 19 December 2017.
Sumo is a Toll Road is a strategic part of Trans Java network, linking Surabaya city to the rest of East Java. This toll road is expected to reduce congestion between Surabaya and Mojokerto, improve connectivity and become a major national logistics route that was increase the economic potential of Mojokerto, Jombang and surrounding areas as well as East Java in general.
