Eid Homecoming and Return Journey 2026: Creating Beautiful Stories of Togetherness with Astra Infra

Jakarta, March 31, 2026 – The moments of togetherness during the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H have gradually come to an end. Joyful laughter and meaningful stories were created throughout both the homecoming and return journeys during the Eid holiday season. As a provider of public infrastructure services, particularly toll roads, ASTRA Infra implemented a number of strategic initiatives to support the government in ensuring the success of the 2026 Eid homecoming and return traffic flow by delivering the best possible services to road users.

To ensure the smooth flow of traffic during the Eid homecoming and return periods, ASTRA Infra ensured the readiness of facilities and infrastructure services, including road infrastructure conditions, rest area preparedness, deployment of additional personnel, and safety reminders through various communication channels so that the travel experience would feel safer and more comfortable. Group Chief Executive Officer of ASTRA Infra, Firman Yosafat Siregar, expressed his appreciation for the successful implementation of the 2026 Eid homecoming and return traffic services, stating, “We hope that all the efforts we carried out during the 2026 Eid homecoming and return period leave a positive impression on all travelers passing through ASTRA Infra toll roads. We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to all stakeholders for the collaboration established in providing the best services to road users.”

Synergy and collaboration with stakeholders, including the Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Public Works, Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri), and various other parties, became key factors behind the successful and orderly implementation of the 2026 Eid transportation services. One form of collaboration was the intensive coordination with Korlantas Polri in implementing traffic engineering measures such as contra flow and one-way traffic systems to help reduce congestion. In addition, collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation continued through direct traffic monitoring activities at the 2026 Integrated Eid Transportation Central Command Post, which had been operating since March 13, 2026. During the closing ceremony of the 2026 Integrated Eid Transportation Central Command Post held on March 30, 2026, the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, Dudy Purwagandhi, also expressed his appreciation, stating, “We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to all parties, including stakeholders, the media, and the public, who supported the smooth, safe, secure, and comfortable implementation of the 2026 integrated Eid transportation services.”

Various positive impressions from the 2026 Eid homecoming and return traffic flow were also directly experienced by road users. One such experience was shared by Abdulrahman, a traveler returning from Magelang to Cikarang. During an interview conducted by the ASTRA Infra team at Rest Area KM 164 B of the Cikopo–Palimanan Toll Road, he shared his travel experience, saying, “I felt that the return trip was safe and smooth while traveling through the Cipali toll road. The rest area facilities were also complete, with spacious parking areas that made it comfortable to rest before continuing the journey home.”

In line with Abdulrahman’s statement, Sapto, a traveler from Yogyakarta, also shared his experience while passing through the Tangerang–Merak Toll Road, stating, “This year’s homecoming trip felt much more comfortable. The road conditions have improved significantly, and the rest areas are now more complete.”

During the 2026 Eid homecoming and return period from March 13 to March 29, 2026 (H-8 to H+7 of Eid 2026), a total of 5.3 million vehicles were recorded passing through ASTRA Infra toll roads. This figure represents an increase of approximately 2.4% compared to the same Eid period last year. Of this total, 2.5 million vehicles passed through the Tangerang–Merak Toll Road. Meanwhile, around 1.8 million vehicles traveled through the Cikopo–Palimanan Toll Road, and 998 thousand vehicles passed through the Jombang–Mojokerto Toll Road.

ASTRA Infra expresses its deepest appreciation for the active role and contribution of road users in prioritizing safety during the 2026 Eid homecoming and return journeys. The creation of a safe journey reflects that the Eid homecoming experience is not merely about reaching a destination, but also about enjoying the journey itself as a moment to strengthen togetherness and create beautiful memories along the way. Thank you to all road users who celebrated the beauty of togetherness with ASTRA Infra.
