PT Marga Mandalasakti (ASTRA Infra Toll Road Tangerang-Merak) was established on 4 October 1989 in Jakarta and started its commercial operation on April 1st, 1990. The Company operates the 72.5 km long Tangerang-Merak Toll Road, which connects West Tangerang and Merak, the further west of the Island of Java. The toll road passes through 3 cities – Tangerang, Serang, and Cilegon. Tangerang-Merak Toll Road is a part of the Trans-Jawa Toll Road network.
Since 2005, PT Astra Tol Nusantara acquired PT MMS shares gradually, now PT Astra Tol Nusantara owns 79.68% of shares of Tangerang - Merak toll road. After its acquisition by the ASTRA Infra, PT MMS invested significantly in road revitalization and capacity and service enhancement.

Automatic Vehicle Classification (AVC)
AVC is a technology system that automatically detects five types of vehicles passing through toll gates. This technology allows the utilisation of automatic toll gates for all types of vehicles. PT MMS is a pioneer in multi-type AVC technology in closed toll road system.
Variable Message Signs (VMS)
VMS is a traffic control device that consists of electronic screens with information content that can be centrally updated and controlled.
Wire Rope
Wire rope safety fence at road medians increases safety for toll-road users by preventing vehicles from breaking through lanes and thereby reducing accident fatalities.
Rumble Dot
Rumble dot is a material made from hot-mix ingredients with special composition and dimensions that is installed in certain length in both inner and outter shoulders of toll roads as a shock line of an early warning sign for road users.
Weight in Motion (WIM)
A device that measures the weight of moving objects, providing information to automatically generate special barcode sheets for over-loaded vehicles, requiring them to exit at the nearest toll gate. WIM provides data for road ageng planning and evaluation.
Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement (CRCP)
